Day 60
God gave Isaiah the gift of seeing the future and he is generally considered to be the greatest prophet. Although in the beginning of his ministry, Isaiah was well liked. He like most prophets soon became unpopular because his messages were so difficult to hear. He called the people to turn from their lives of sin and warned them of God’s judgment and punishment.
In the 2nd Chapter of Isaiah, God showed Isaiah what would eventually happen to Jerusalem. The 21st Chapter of Revelation depicts the glorious fulfillment of this prophecy in the new Jerusalem, where only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be allowed to enter. God made a promise with his people and will never break it. His faithfulness gives us hope for the future.
Although we don’t know exactly what eternity will be like we do know from the Scriptures that God “will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Rev. 21:4). There will be no more pain, death, sorrow or crying. God has promised true fulfillment and eternal joy for those who love him. It will be more wonderful than we could ever imagine.
Because God is without sin, he alone can help us with our sin. We must regard him as supreme in power and moral perfection. He alone deserves our devotion and praise. He is always truthful, fair and just.
