Day 205

Will of God

Read John 4:34-38

What is important in your life? In life we need to take inventory of life often and set priorities. What is really important and what is not? Some love sports and regardless of what else happens in their life they are not going to be late for a sporting event. If they are a golfer they may be late for everything else but they will be a half hour or more early for the golf game. Jesus when he came to earth had a mission and that was to teach, promote, and preach to the people to show them the Father’s will. He just had finished talking with the woman at the well and revealing himself to the Gentile people, and his disciples were wanting him to eat.

When we have priorities and do not lose vision of those priorities eating many times will take a back seat to the enthusiasm we display when doing what we love. We may forget about all other aspects of life and have single vision and purpose when it comes to priorities. Jesus came to earth to glorify and teach the will of his Father. In Jn. 17:1 Jesus was ready to die to glorify God. *Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee.* Jesus was not about serving himself but about serving and glorifying the father and to bring salvation to sinners.

Is our priority about praising and glorifying God and Jesus Christ by serving him or are we serving our self and Satan? Mt. 6:33 tells us that if we will put God first the necessities of life will be added unto us. My wife was chiding me for always having to be the first ones at the assemblies and late for everything else. I told her that ought to tell you where my priorities lie.

Let us put God first!
