As we start reading this discourse, we can clearly see that Jesus is establishing what is known as “The Lord’s Supper”. He is preparing His disciples for what is to come and what is going to happen to Him even though some deny that they will not forsake Him.

He will be establishing His earthly spiritual kingdom, His Church. All this will come about after His death but He is establishing these emblems and their meaning and that as often as they (we) take of them that we must remember to take these emblems that represent f His blood and body that He shed upon the cross for the sins of the world.

So we do this in His request to keep His words alive. He is preparing a place for us and I look forward to the day that I will get to drink the fruit of the vine with Him. The only question I ask is,: Are you prepared to have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him and be able to eat and drink with Him?

Please don’t keep putting it off because we are not promised another day or another moment. The only and true blessing to have in one’s life is to be a child of God. Only with God’s grace will we be able to spend eternity with Him and His father.
